On a recent flight from Sedona, AZ to Flagstaff, AZ (very short hop), I was told to contact center, who then immediately told me to contact Flagstaff tower. Tower then proceeded to vector me for a GPS runway 3 approach. This is highly unrealistic! I can tell you as a real-world pilot, that the tower will never vector or clear an aircraft for an approach.
