May 6, 200323 yr I'm using one of the first versions of ActiveSky Wxre and i only fly with real world wx in FS2002..However i can't seem t find the airport's RVR's in the Metar reports..is there a way to check RVRs for use in FS2002?ThanksClear skies, Happy landings!!!
May 7, 200323 yr Don't know about the US or other parts of the world, but RVR isn't reported in Canadian metars unless conditions call for it.. from what I remember, below 6000 feet will be reported depending on conditions (ie rain, snow, blowing snow, fog, mist etc) ..I may be wrong on the 6000..don't have the regs in front of me.Chris
May 7, 200323 yr Author Some US airports have an approach which has a RVR visibility category (usually 2,000', compared with 1/2 mile for no RVR). So, RVR offers a continued approach to land with less vis.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
