Saving inverted alpha channel

Featured Replies

I have been away from repainting for quite some time now and am having a problem with DXTbmp in that I can't figure out how to save changes to the alpha channel. Specifically all I am trying to do is invert a white alpha to black and save it. I can save changes I have made to the main bitmap file but not the alpha channel. I have got to be missing something but I am not sure what. Every time I reopen the edited file, the alpha is the original white. I am using the latest version of DXTbmp (downloaded today) on Windows Vista Home Edition 64 bit and FSX Acceleration SP2. Thanks

If the alphalayer you made does not is 256 or more colors ( e.g. black and white , two colors) DXTBmp does not actually overwrite the original alpha.Reopening the saved file will show the original alpha again.Only 256 color (8bit) and 16milj color (24bit) files can be imported in DXTBmp.Leen
