April 16, 200917 yr Hi AllI have been away from the Sim community for almost a year.I will be joining back into the community, and will be installing a router due to having a new family with a second puter and wife.My question.Is there any special thing I should know about installing a router and its affects on FSX.I believe there were some problems with FSX when installing the router.Any advise appreciated.Kenny G.

However, if you are wanting to access VATSIM or similar on-line resources, you may need to open ports, etc. I'm not sure.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.

April 18, 200917 yr You should be OK using FSX with a router. As far as I'm aware you don't need to open any ports to access VATSIM or IVAO either, so it should all be good. The only time ports need to be opened are for things such as FSHost or the multiplayer already in FSX, but I don't expect you'll be needing them.
