RC v4.3 Does Not Recognize Kamuzu intl Airport (FWKI)

I added an AFCAD2 for airport Kamuzu Intl. FWKI but RC v4.3 does not recognize it within my plan as a destination within FS9. FS9 knows about FWKI but RC does not.Is there a way to add FWKI to RC database?TIA

there is a section in the manual about what to do when you add new scenery. in a nutshell, you have to click the rebuild rc scenery database button.jd

I forgot to mention the scenery was rebuilt using RC rebuild scenery database button.

Make sure you are using the latest version of makerwys. The latest version link is at the thread near the top of this forum. If you need an update put the latest version in your FS folder overwriting the older one. Rerun your scenery rebuild and then run the confirmation steps below:Elevating airport/afcad scenery priority.Create a folder on your FS drive with a scenery folder under it such as D:\AFCAD2S\scenery\. Move your afcad2 file from its current location to this scenery folder. Open FS and go to settings/scenery library. Click ADD and browse to AFCAD2s then OK it. It should appear and be allowed to stay at position number 1. Close FS and restart it so FS reorders it scenery database (scenery.cfg). You have now created a high priority folder for any afcads for add-ons that may have been overridden by interfering other scenery elements. Close FS. Open RC and run the scenery rebuild function. Close RC. Run the confirmation that follows.Confirmation:Browse to your RC folder and the data folder under that. Right click on r4.csv and check its modified date for the current date and time to see if it was modified with the rebuild you just ran. If so, then make a safety backup copy of r4.csv. Open r4.csv with notepad. Do not do any saves under notepad or other program. Search for FWKI. There should be some line entries regarding runways and navaids for them. If so, close notepad and open a4.csv with notepad. Search for FWKI to insure there is an airport entry.If you still don't list this airport then something is missing in your AFCAD or your path to FS9 is not correct so makerwys is not running. You should see a list of runways progressing followed by a number of file copies and processing requiring you to click OK. If you are on a network follow instructions where RC is not on your FS PC.For afcad considerations runway lengths and start locations need to be checked. Makerwys requires a certain minimum length to include an airport to work around a pseudo runway trick in the afcad star method of having active non-parallel runways that uses short pseudo runways not to be included in the RC database.If you need the afcad looked at zip it up and if it is under 1.9 MB you can attach it here.

Looks like the problem is the AFCAD. The AFCAD is named AF2_FWKI.bgl which is the old ICAO. The AFCAD contents is for ICAO FWLI which is the new ICAO for Airport Lilongwe Kamuzu (Malawi). FS9 knows the ICAO FWLI but not FWKI. Radar Contact knows FWLI and not FWKI. FSBUILD knows FWKI and not FWLI. Jeppesen SimCharts knows the ICAO FWKI but not FWLI.

The flight planner FSBUILD database is not matching your AFCAD and FS9. What goes in the plan from FSB is what needs to match your scenery. You say below FS9 and RC agree. You may want to install a free AIRAC download from www.fsbuild.com that will update your current FSB database.If your AFCAD contents match the FSB database and your scenery rebuild puts that in the RC database, then all should match. The name of the afcad file is basically irrelevant but the properties of the afcad determine the airport name. I have the latest AIRAC 0904 for FSBuild which contains the old ICAO. I will make the edit and test.
