FPS Drop for a while after opening ATC

Strange problem that I have never noticed before. When I'm using complex add-on aircraft and intense weather (straining my system in other words) I get a steady 35fps(locked) until i press the open ATC window button. Immediately fps drops to 18-22 for about 10 seconds, that goes back up to a steady 35. This repeats everytime i open the ATC window.Anyone experience this before? any solutions? Really annoying when 1000agl on ILS in a 737 in IMC conditions and fps drops everytime you open ATC.System:e8500 at 3.42 gig DDR28800GTS 512
