Restoring Default AI Sounds

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,I wonder if any of you know a way to restore the default AI Sounds in FSX?Over the last couple of years I have downloaded new sounds, tinkered with them myself etc and while I initially had the originals backed up, I believe I may have deleted them somewhere along the way :( I have looked on the FSX Installation disks, searched this forum and did a google and couldnt come up with anything. Thanks in advance for your help, aviationhead.

As far as I can tell it's simply a matter of locating the relevant aircraft, deleting the soundai (as opposed to the sound) folder, and running the repair option from the first of the installation disks. The repair option will replace any files it finds missing and is a good way of getting unadulterated files in a variety of situations.

Thanks for that Mike,Il give it a try and see what happens!

Ok, well I did as suggested and after using the FSX repair tool I received a fatal error message every time I tried to start the sim. The error message was in relation to the simprop.dll and on reading through some other posts in the forum I set about reinstalling both SP1 and 2 in order to try and solve the problem. I also updated my .net framework and directx just to cover all bases. However following this I am now getting another error which states that flight simulator is unable to load some program files and will now exit.Has anyone come accross this issue before? I really dont want to have to reinstall if at all possible.aviationhead.
