Captain Sim 757 Cold and Dark Start

Featured Replies

Is there a way to start FSX Captain Sim 757 in cold and dark mode? When I start Captain Sim 757, the engine are running and the MFD's are not aligned.

I set my default flight to be a cold & dark Cessna, and the Captain Sim 757 starts cold & dark for me.Two ways to do it:1] start a flight anywhere in the default Cessna, turn everything off, then save the flight and click the checkbox "Make this the default flight". All flights should now start cold & dark, with maybe a few exceptions for complex payware.2] set up the flight you want to do in the 757, but choose the Cessna. Once the flight loads, turn everything off and then switch to the 757.The only real difference is that the 2nd method is valid only for that flight; the next flight you start will have the aircraft powered up already.

I get > 20 FPS @ Ultra High or better everything until I come across addon scenery.

Or, load the cessna and turn everything off, then switch to the 757 and save THAT as the default flight, then it will open C&D each time.

but isn't that bug still around with saving a non default airplane as the default flight? something about not all gauges of other addon aircraft load correctly after

Some recommend that but I have never had a problem doing it this way, including the Mustang, your milage may vary but it's worth trying, it saves a lot of time. Since I fly multiplayer only, we have to load the correct plane initially, since you cant change planes once you are in. In fact no one I fly with loads a default plane first, we just grab what we want and fly, never had a problem.

Ok, Thanks. One question, can you get the speed tape on the pfd? the screen shots I've seen don't have it. It is another gauge option in a setup utility or something?

There is no speed tape per se, like on later models. You read the speed in the upper left corner of the PFD, and the indicator below that is a 'trend' indicator which as I recall works off the speeds set in the FMC. I havent flown it for a while so that may be wrong.
