Speedstep will not go away :-(

Featured Replies

I have a strange problem with Speedstep technology: It can't be turned off anymore. I disabled it in the BIOS (P5Q by Asus), I set energy saving mode in the os (Vista 64 Ultimate) to "waste all energy you have" *g* - the CPU is still steppd down from 3.24 overclocked to 2.28 pretty often. This(?) results in endless loading times for FSX. It takes a minute or more before even the first CPU picks up, and sometimes it takes 6 minutes from starting FSX to dislaying the scenery. It's a pretty new behaviour with my system - it hasn't been that way all the time. When FSX is running, there is no speed loss at all, though.I am at the brink of installing everything again, since I find no solution myself. What could have gone wrong? What could I do?
