May 12, 200917 yr I just downloaded the service pack 2, and now it's telling me that I need to reinstall DirectX 9, so I went to the Microsoft website and installed it, when it asked me where I wanted it to install to I sent it to Program Files as it is a program, but whenever I try to access FSX it still tells me that I need to install DirectX 9. So I'm assuming that I installed it to the wrong place, if so, where do I need to install it to, and if not, then why is it telling me to install it?Thanks for your help.
May 12, 200917 yr Sounds like you downloaded a self extracting archive. I think you just toled the software were to extract the files to. Look in the directory you pointed the installer to. There sould be a directx.exe or setup.exe or similar. Double click the file to run the setup.
May 12, 200917 yr And don't forget to re-start your PC for it to 'take effect'. Hopefully you got DirectX '9.0c' version (ie: latest version). Then do 'Start' then 'Run' and enter 'dxdiag' in window and click ok to run. You will find version listed in opening screen at the bottom of system spec list. You can then go to tabs and run sound and video tests.Chuck BNapamule
