May 28, 200917 yr Commercial Member Hi all, it's good to see the forums back!1. I was flying a Fedex MD11F into Moscow on Vatsim last week flying in Metric alt, my charts stated I needed to be in QFE I had no problem selecting it in the past but now I get QFE disabled?? so what have I changed by mistake?2. I discovered by accident that if I fill in the weight init page including the TOCG before I refuel I will get a CG Disagree on Taxi out. If I fill everything in and then add TOCG 'after' I refuel I will get the correct TOCG and correct trim figures on the TO page and no warnings on taxi out.So I'm curious to know if this is realistic, I understand that real crew don't right click the TOCG LSK to get there figures :( but still a little curious as to why the TOCG and trim figures are so different after I have loaded fuel when the amount of fuel I loaded is exactly the same as what I entered as the BLOCK fuel.CheersRob Rob Prest
May 29, 200917 yr 2. If you set the TOCG before fuelling is complete, the system will load the CG at the time the button was pushed, ie. the CG at that instant. As you've observed, you need to wait until fuelling is complete before using the right button to load the CG.Strictly speaking, the PMDG MD11 does not have the Weight and Balance system installed, so I'm not sure how the FMS behaves when it is installed.Paul
May 29, 200917 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks, I thought the TOCG was reading the Block fuel I had entered the same way I can get my TOW before I have actually loaded the plane with fuel.Anyone know why I get QFE Disabled on the PFD?CheersRob Rob Prest
May 30, 200917 yr I assume the FMC works that way because even though there's a standard fuel distribution method, you can probably vary the distribution in unusual cases.Paul
