First of all I'm glad that Avsim is back on its feet.....this is absolutely great!!I have an issue with my FS9.....honestly I don't know when it started or if I always had it....I just noticed recently (I tend to use more my spot view function lately...)When I fly at the very early dawn or even at night in certain time/locales, I notice "streaks" on my sky...not a smooth transition of colors...some sort of bands or patches...similar to when you use only a 16 bit color resolutionI have the dawn/dusk blending checkbox on (I did check the FS9.cfg too), anisotropic filter on 16X, everything to the max.....The TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT value is set to 800.I verified the display resolution and colors, 1920 X 1200 32 bit both within FS9 and in Vista. My system is a Gateway P-7811 FX, Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 3.06 GHz.4 GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA 9800m GTS graphic card with 512 MB of on board memory.200 GB HD 7200 rpm (where Vista and other programs are) and a 320 GB HD 7200 rpm dedicated only for FS9 and FSX.Again, it happens only on very early dawn, very late sunset and sometimes at night.Other than that my FS9 run beautifully...everything flat out max and very high FPSI included 2 pics...sorry for the size but it's necessary to see the problem better....it is extremely annoying and it spoils my simulation experience which is particularly "intense" at dawn/duskAny suggestions??Thank you very much!!RegardsDawndawn.jpgNightnight.jpg

I think it's just a limitation of FS9 and the resolution of the textures involved. The Sky textures are 32x32 pixels and you are expanding them massively - especially as you increase the overall screen resolution of the game - I definately see it with my dual 1920x1200 displays! The reason you get it badly at dawn and dusk is that then the difference from one edge of the texture to the other is greatest but at high resolutions it is there in all sky textures... I don't know if FSX does this better, perhaps it is more capable, but after all you have to remember when FS9 was released, not many of us would have been playing on such high resolution screens!Dawn and dusk texture blending is to do with ground textures btw and does not relate to this in any way.Geoff

GeoffThank you for the suggestionUnfortunately I just tried to lower the resolution, all the way down to the good old 1024 X 768 and the streaks remain!!!I tried with FS9 on another computer with a 19" monitor 1440 X 900 and FS2004 "virgin" with no add-on whatsoever (just the 9.1 update)....same problem...streaks sometimes....maybe you are right...this is the way FS9 is...but seems weird to me that I never noticed this before....have you guys ever noticed this???

Hi, saturno_v, and everyoneTry to set your AA and AF to at least 4 or 8 on your Video, disable it in FS, and Enable the Dusk / Dawn transition. TV
