May 17, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, Here some system market comparison before fs2002 release and fs2004:Fs2002 before the Release:System Market-Low system 500mhz, 3d card 32 meg, 64 ram-Mid system 900mhz, 3d card 64 megmx, 256 ram-High system 1.5ghz and more, 512 ram.. 3d card 64meg, (after a while 128 meg) Fs2004 before Release:System Market-Low system 1ghz 3d card 64 meg, 256 ram-Mid system 2ghz 3d card 128 meg, 512, ram-High system 3ghz and more.. 3dcard 256 meg, 512 or 1024 ram. Expect, just after fs2004 release, 4,5,6 GHZ available, the MID 2ghz system will start to be low system in the market from these above.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
May 17, 200323 yr Interesting postulations on the upcoming hardware, Chris. I have to disagree with the timeframe, however. Intel plans on being at approximately 4GHz by the end of this year, 4.5GHz if the market calls for it, and (if I'm not mistaken) an "effective" 10GHz by the end of next year (5GHz double-pumped CPU = 10GHz). AMD on the other hand will be breaking the 3GHz barrier by the beginning of next year and should be pushing a little over 4GHz by the end of next year. Of course, That 4GHz AMD chip will perform on par with the "10GHz" Intel counterpart due to their differing architectures. Let's not even get started on the GPU/VPU technology coming next year and the year after... NV40, Loci, NV50, R500 should just slaughter anything we've ever dreamed of in graphics cards. If you think the Geforce FX 5900 Ultra (NV35) and Radeon 9800 Pro are fast, wait for these puppies ;) They'll make current cards look like S3 virge graphics, hehe-Max Cowgill
