May 30, 200917 yr I've got these nagging distant blurries, ya know .. I want to dial up my AF to hopefully combat them. Unfortunately, Catalyst 9.5 won't override the FSX AF settings .. anybody know how to force 16xAF in FSX SP2?? I've tried the "mipdetail=6" trick to no avail, also. Thanks!!Carl
May 30, 200917 yr Not sure that the 'nagging distant blurries' you refer to aren't normal. In the real world, distance becomes blurred as you look to the horizon. There was an excellent post about this somewhere in these forums. The author was explaining how many folks confuse normal distant blurries with the dreaded actual blurries. They are quite different. If the textures right below and around your plane are not blurry, then chances are you do not have the blurries.Recommendations I have read regarding whether to let your video card or FSX run AF have always recommended letting the application run AF. I suppose you could try to uncheck the option in FSX and see if Catalyst let's you change it on the card. I checked my Catalyst and could not do so although I do not have the blurries except for the 'normal' blur you get with distance. Perhaps not the answer you want but there it is.

Thanks!!CarlI've had at least four ATI cards and never experienced any blurries with them in any game or sim.

Keep the FSX ingame settings. The suggestion to set everything outside the game is becoming rather outdated with new drivers.
