May 31, 200917 yr Hey guys, I was wondering if any other level-d pilots out there have this problem... On almost every flight I make, the autopilot pitch control seems to somehow malfunction regardless of mode (VNAV, FLCH, ALT HOLD, etc) once the FMC-programmed descent has started. The light will still be on however the autopilot is not actually flying the airplane. I can move the pitch controls freely with the joystick and the mode will stay engaged. Also, the flight director pitch bar will follow the aircraft position (ie if I pitch up 20 degrees, the flight director bar will go up to 20 degrees). The FMS modes and route are properly set and descent rates chosen are reasonable. Fuel and weight was also properly entered. All of the LNAV modes still work fine. There are no warnings that pop up on the displays. I have tried to cycle on/off the AP/FD with no resolution. I am running on a very old, crappy laptop with FS9 (but I don't think it's the speed that's the problem) - intel pentium M @ 1.33ghz, 512mb ram, some form of an old intel gfx card, etc. (I know, I know...)Thanks for taking your time to read this, any help is appreciated .Colin ZhangAFA4782/DVA7363
