What am I missing?

Featured Replies

Hi,Installed the MD11 with UPS livery into FSX running in Windows XP via bootcamp on a MACBOOK Pro. FSX runs fine on this laptop and all other aircraft function fine. After install, I selected the MD11 and it loads fine at the airport selected. Looks great from the outside but the aircraft is dead except for the MCP airspeed and altitude window. I went to the overhead and tried to turn on the battery. I can get the guard to lower but the button will not press. The knobs appear to turn but no power to anything.Any suggestions about what might be wrong or what I am missing? How about external power? Can you set these aircraft to load powered up such as the FSX native livery.Lastly, my FSX does not have an ADD-ON menu - never has.As you can tell I'm new at this so be gentle.Dustoff

Hi Dustoff,Did you also let the installer run the C++ redistributable? If you're running Vista x64 you'll need to download the redistributable for that too. You can get it from hereHave you tried running simconnect diagnostics? Or have a go with some software that interfaces via Simconnect, I used FSX Google Earth to check my simconnect was working properly (I only mention this as I didn't see the Addons menu either).HTH, Leo

Leo,Thanks for the reply. I did rn the C++ redistributable that was part of the install. I will research the simconnect issue and let you know how it turns out.DustoffRay ButlerLouisville, KY
