June 1, 200917 yr I always forget what to set first after take off: should you first lower prop and then throttle or the other way around? I know that one of them has to be 'above' the other one always. (So when you approach it's the other way around too.) But I always forget what it is... :( :(

June 3, 200917 yr Throttle 1st...Thanks! I just came up with another (silly) way of remembering the right order. The P (from prop) is 'above' the T (from throttle) in the alphabet......NOPropQRSThrottleUV...and the P should always stay above the T, so... when I've got to lower the controls, T has to be lowered first and after that P. And at approach P has to be raised before raising (if necessary) throttles. (I use the words 'lower' and 'staying above' because I usually fly my Decathlon at something like 24 manifold and 24(00) rpm, so on the dials these numbers are the same and so the 'prop-number' should never get below the 'throttle-number'. :( Maybe this doesn't make sense to anyone but it works for me. :(

But I try to square it whenever I can. Here is another one "RPM is King", needs to always be higher or equal. TV
