Flitemap/FliteStar Aircraft Models

Featured Replies

Hallo all,Has anyone created a Aircraft Model (Advanced or Basic) for flightplaning with fuel in Jeppesen FliteStar for any of the PMDG planes? I'm looking for the MD-11 for any of the engine variants. I have done an advanced model for the PMDG B744 GE which has been tested and gives perfect fuel calculations. I have also created a Flight1 ATR72-500 which was also farely good. However that was done from the FCOM. Recently I have seen a similar one posted. I have not compared the two. In any case has anyone done one for the MD-11? --eric bocaneanuPS. Some news for FlightStar users: in the next small update of FS the ICAO FPL export will be properly formated and filtered.

You need to buy the Corporate version of Flitestar for all the heavies. I have the 767 200/300/400 and all ER/Cargo values for those, but i think its illegal to share these Aircraft files. You can contact Jeppesen for Corporate keys.Just incase your not aware, Flitestar is a certified product for real world navigation... Its not for flight simulation. Jeppesen has said they strongly dislike the use of their products for flight simulation if their not intended for that market. You could create your own file, but dont ask others for them as those that have them are not prepared to loose their license over it. Again, the Corporate key activates all the aircraft.

Lol hey Kylan! I never knew you frequented these parts....I don't know if it's necessarily bad that people have the opportunity to use Flightstar or JeppView or something like that for flight planning in FS. When i'm in the office sometimes I print off a little for my own FS journeys. Doesn't hurt anybody.Heck, lots of the aircraft files are made in-house by most outfits (or by someone like Skyplan) i'm pretty sure because of the just crazy number of parameters when it comes to aircraft performance, especially in the >12.5 range and stuff like that.Patrick Houghton

I rarely frequent ;)Flitestar has a feature that allows the building of aircraft when planning a route. You might be able to build the aircraft by entering all the values.

Hallo Kylan,Thanks for replying. It sounds like a disclaimer should be used: NOT for flight simulation training purposes. Of course it's not illegal to use it for Simming or such. It's just illegal to use it without having purchased it. Second: the Corporate version is not required to activate anything. It just allows you to use Advanced aircraft models instead of Basic ones. However Basic models is still far ahead that any model used to calculate fuel in most of the products out there. Third: while some files are included with the package those are mostly as a model to start modeling your own aircraft. You do not pay for the model. The models are free. Even more. Jeppesen asks, encourages their clients to share their own model files for everyone. They are available on a public website, Advanced and Basic. http://www.jeppesen.com/aviation/personal/...ft-exchange.jsp So it's all BUT illegal to share aircraft files. Far from anyone loosing any license (see the website).Fourth: I use FliteStar at the local FlightSchool (licensed). It's been forgotten (aka no one uses it anymore) on an old station there. I have made the ATR72-50 Advanced Model (direct from the POH) and the B744 PW Advanced Model (trial and error). I have also helped fixed some bugs in FliteStar regarding ICAO FPL message exports. Lastly: Has anyone modeled an aircraft performance for the MD-11?--eric

Is there already an MD11 .act file in circulation?I use the 747 classic file from the Jeppesen website (and yes, on a licenced verion of flitestar of the flightschool were I work)For routing this works OK, but the fuel planning is ofcourse incorrect.Cheers!

Still no answer from anyone regarding the MD11. Only the B744 that I've created.

Hi Eric,

We have met two years ago together with Alin Fusariu to that cute restaurant, I hope you remember.

I am posting here because I have exactly the same problem as you stated in this topic AND I found this topic on Google, hoping that if an result will arise others will take advatage from this topic.

Recently, I have a new problem, I need to do exact fuel calculation for a transatlantic flight (virtual}. I use often Flitemap for route planning but never for fuel calculation due to the fact that the REAL aircraft files does not match with the performance of the virtual planes that i am flying. I need 747-400 PMDG, 767-300ER LEVELD, also iFly737-700. If you have some expertize in developing aircraft files for Flitemap and some time, I would kindly ask you for some help and advice. Your efforts will be greatly apreciated.

I had Googled the problem but with no luck. Two exceptions must be noted: your topic and the Jeppsen site itself, as you stated in this topic, above. Or maybe I must search more...

Thank You,

Cristian Radulescu
