June 3, 200917 yr Radio reports of a major forest fire in the British Columbia Carpenter Lake area, spurred me today, to renew acquaintances with an area where I fished and hunted some 35 years ago. So in a low/slow flight I cruised from Lillooet (Car3) to Pemberton (CYPS). Approaching Carpenter Lake/ Tyaughton area I was amazed to see visibility drop to about 10 miles with what sure looked like smoke haze. Passing beyond and climbing to clear Mt Truax 9500', the haze diminished and finally cleared as I descended to Pemberton.So- does Real Weather have the capability to simulate smoke- assuming that the Jeppeson met. reports actually put out smoke advisories?Sure looked and behaved like smoke! (No odour though!)------------ "And smoke from forest fires at noon, can make the sun appear the moon." ( from "The Song my Paddle Sings by Pauline Johnson)Alex Reid

I suppose one sits there with the fire extinguisher in his lap while debating "is it forest fire smoke or something else?".Alex Reid
June 3, 200917 yr For Fire & Smoke, Check out FS-Blaze FS-Blaze is a utility which places sensational forest fire effects as scenery within Microsoft Flight Simulator. The locations of the created fires are either of historical significance, user-created, or real-time for North America using daily data from NOAA. FS-BlazeCheers Clarke Kruger - CYEG
