June 12, 200916 yr Hello, I currently have ASA installed on my main FSX PC but was considering networking it via a spare PC. What are the advantages in doing this, does it make a big difference in performance?Terry Core i7 8700K @ 5.0, 2080 Ti FE, 32Gb 3600 RAM, M.2 SSD, Valve Index.
June 12, 200916 yr The advantage you get is more CPU and memory resources for FSX/FS9 to use on your PC. ASA, due to what it does uses a nice chunck of memory and CPU when it is processing weather, so it'll definately free up resources.I've been running mine this way for quite some time. June 12, 200916 yr Author Thanks for that, I'll give it a go and see what else I can offload onto the spare PC while I'm at it.Terry Core i7 8700K @ 5.0, 2080 Ti FE, 32Gb 3600 RAM, M.2 SSD, Valve Index.
June 12, 200916 yr I run ASA, my ACARS for the virtual airline I fly with, AISmooth, and Radar Contact all from my 'client' PC. Works pretty good...plus then I do my browsing etc on that one for longer hauls.
