(newbie) start FSX "ready to fly" without splash screens?

Featured Replies

Helloback in the old days when I was using FS9 I used to be able to start FS9 (FS2004) with a pre-selected aircraft at a pre-selected airfield, at a certain time of day, with a certain visibility, etc. etc. all preset so every time I started I was in the same situation and I had to press no buttons. Could someone please point me in the right direction for how to achieve this in FSX? I've just installed it (and SP1 & 2) and am trying to get going on a project in a hurry. Thank you so much.MK

In flights\other menu there is a FLTSIM.FLT file. This is the default flight. What I do suggest is create a flight of Your dreams, save it (under Your documents\Microsoft Flight Simulator X folder), rename the file and copy it to flights\other. I also suggest You to not delete orginal file, just change the resolution to .OLD, .ORG or anything else.Next thing will be 'enable splash screen' turning off. It is somewhere in settings, most propably in 'general'.Hope it helps
