June 15, 200916 yr Everytime I start squawkbox from within FS9, I get the standard dialogue box etc, then I connect, and within the connect box, I get all the saved stuff, like ID/password, callsign etc, but I also get a strange string of symbols after each line of text...for example, callsign will be AWE2579 and then have strange binary symbols after so that it looks like: AWE2579~!"}, aircraft will be A333&*(~! etc. I manually delete the characters then connect and it runs fine. However, each time I reenter FS9 and click to start squawkbox, I get the same symbols showing up.I've tried to uninstall/delete all of squawkbox, then reinstall, but they still show up. I'm not sure I'm completely uninstalling squawkbox since when I open FS9 after a complete uninstall/install, I click on the connect, and get all the saved information already filled out in the text boxes (User ID, Password, callsign, name, etc)How do I completely uninstall SB4 so that I have to reenter the basic text info again (user ID, password etc) like you do when you install SB the very first time?ThanksRich PerryIntel i7 965 Extreme Edition Quad Core (oc 3.8Ghz)Nvidia GTX 285 2GB GPUOCZ 6GB DDR3 1800Mhz RAMVel Raptor 300GB SATAII HD 10000rpmSB X-Fi ExtremeDell 24 1920x1200Vista Ultimate 64-bit
June 15, 200916 yr Author Fixed it...seems others have had the same problem running FS9 in vista--Ernie Alston in a post over at the SB Forum suggested unselecting WinXP compatibility mode within FS9.exe (right click on FS9 icon go to properties/compatibility). Before doing that, I uninstalled SB4, rebooted, then cleaned SB registry entries (using Registry Defense). When I loaded SB within FS9, I deleted all the entries (on the connect page) and reentered them...then I quit SB and FS9 and restarted FS9, selected SB and connected with NO STRANGE SYMBOLS.Rich Perry
