June 17, 200916 yr Hello,I am contemplating if to order a PFC Yoke. I right now cannot decide between a Saab Style or a Boeing 737 Style yoke.Saab provides more programmable buttons, while 737 provides less. 737 on the other hand is a "true style" 737 yoke. Also noticed that the Saab yoke is kind of higher, while the 737 one is lower. I don't know how that impacts flying, if at all.I am generally flying in FS9 a Boeing 737/747/757/767/777, Airbus 319/320/330/340, Fokker 70/100, Concorde and bunch of other GA aircraft from different vendors. Pretty much everything usual.Right now I am using a MS FF2 joystick, and I know, Boeing is a yoke aircraft and an Airbus is a stick aircraft, for which I keep using my FF2.So what would anyone recommend?Any help or opinion is very welcome! Thanks!KostaEDIT: Strike that. Just called PFC, the price of the 737 Yoke is 995. Out of my league. I think I'll go with the Saab one.
June 17, 200916 yr You might also want to consider the ACE yoke which I believe is has tension-loading as one of it's features. I don't think the PFC yokes offer this feature. You can check out the link below. I'm going to look into buying one of these myself.http://www.737yoke.com/Regards,jack
June 18, 200916 yr Oh I saw that one already. I am afraid I can't get a yoke that fixates onto the floor. Space problem and I only have one simming computer which is used for other purposes too... But thank you for the suggestion!
July 4, 200916 yr G'day Word Not Allowed,Received my SAAB yoke here in Australia on Thursday & with the limited time I've had to use it since, I'm more than happy with it.The unit has a real solid response to it (reminds me of when I used to fly a TB20 Trinidad some years ago) & the buttons & rocker switches all have a real quality feel about them. Even flying the default Baron is OK using this (didn't do that for long though :-).The feel when using this is far superior than any of the previously owned CH or Saitek yokes I had. I still have my Saitek connected & am using the throttles which have never given me any problem to date. The yoke unfortunately didn't prove to be as good as I hoped & I'm on my third replacement. I also have the Saitek Switch Panel & Headphones (replaced once) which work very well. I will be looking at buying the Auto Pilot/ Flap panel later in the year, once the dust settles after this purchase: AU$830.00 including postage to Canada where I had it picked up & brought back to Aust as luggage (saved $450.00 air freight).Only issue to date is that when pulling full back elevator it tends to slip a little on my timber veneer desktop as there are no clamps & the yoke relies on weight to keep it anchored. I fixed this by placing it on some non slip foam. All is good now!If you have any questions you want answered I'll be happy to reply. The contacts at PFC were excellent to deal with btw.Cheers,Ross Cheers, Ross i910900KF | ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Z590 | ASUS ROG STRIX RTX3070 OC 8Gb | 32Gb G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3200 I Thermaltake Water 3.0 Riing | Samsung SSD 870 1TB GB HD | WIN 10 64 Bit
