  1. I haven't been that big on Business Jets but am certainly interested in this one. Should have a handle on the PL21 by the time it comes out hopefully as I await delivery of the KA350i
  2. I was having a similar issue where I would have a severe lock up followed by an odd beeping sound when trying to use the mouse, It turned out to be a problem between P3D & my Saitek Trim Wheel. Disconnecting the wheel whilst using P3D solved the issue. I also at times was able to prevent it by activating the wheel prior to starting the sim. Just a suggestion as you didn't mention which Saitek units you have.
  3. Hi Jimmi, Had this happen to two of my Saitek Yokes & unfortunately I wasn't able to fix the problem. One went back for repair for a different issue but went "missing" in the mail. The other sits at the back of my desk with the throttle plugged into it. Was one of the reasons I moved to a PFC SAAB Yoke. No more squeaks & smooth as butter. A lot more expensive of course!.
  4. Hi Jerome, Just to let you know I was shooting RNAV approaches into ENNO Nottoden & ESDN Sandane over the weekend in the Turbo Duke in prep for some upcoming releases & they both worked fine. These are smaller airports & the only two I have looked at so far. Had to use charts on my other monitor however the safe taxi maps were there in the unit. The GNS750 really is a game changer, apart from using it as a GPS it's a terrific source for Nav/Comms info with the database on board. Fits beautifully into the Real Air panels too.
  5. Good to hear they are working for you. You will probably get used to the spring tension pretty quickly. If the elevator is too strong it's pretty easy to disconnect one of the two springs operating that however I find the tension for that pretty good. It does get heavy if you try to fly out of trim, so just like the real deal this encourages you to fly the aircraft in trim at all times. I wouldn't touch the aileron spring set up as mentioned earlier in case you upset it. The clicking I was getting was a real pain!! I still have my old Saitek Yoke hooked up but inputs turned off. I find they don't usually interfere with the PFC in any case. So I use the throttle that came with the Saitek yoke plus a second unit so I can fly twins & PMDG B7's. A relatively cheap way to do it plus they have served me surprisingly well over the years. Will probably eventually get a PFC throttle set up, but not while the Saitek's are still working & the AU$ is so low against the US$ (which was the case when I bought the yoke). Ended up costing me about AU$800.00. Luckily I had someone visiting the US at the time so they brought it back as luggage & saved me a further $400 in freight charges. But if it totally died somehow I would get another one. Once you have used one of these I couldn't see myself going back to Saitek or CH.
  6. No, according to PFC the new board is 460003-01 Rev B. 460001-01 rev A will not work because there is no way to calibrate in the software. I have done a complete install of P3D V3 about four times during the beta testing & each time, including the final build FSUIPC has fixed the problem for me. I switch off the controls in the sim as I have done for FSX & P3D V2 previously as I have been using FSUIPC to control my hardware for years. Particularly since Pete Dowson introduced the ability to create & select profiles with it.
  7. G'day PHMU. You will really appreciate the difference going from the Saitek yoke. Particularly when flaring to touch down. The PFC is so smooth. Not sure of any tutorials re the PFC but I found it pretty straight forward doing the set up of axis, calibration & button/switch settings. Only odd thing that's a bit tricky is I have set up the redundant throttle as my parking brake. G'day Crosswind, I have mentioned the board as above but I have found by using FSUIPC & turning off the Controls in the sim I don't have an issue.
  8. Slightly off topic I have only had one short flight in the B737 & couldn't get the chimes to work. Pretty much everything else I tried was OK. It was daylight & I didn't notice the landing lights. Ross Casey
  9. Hi, I have a Cirrus SAAB Desktop yoke that is around five to six years old. It is the older system that did use springs for the aileron tension which has now changed to a rubber cord type. You no doubt have had a look at Word Not Allowed's report elsewhere in this forum. I do not have the PFC pedals so cannot comment on them but there is an issue with P3D V3 with the older yokes. Apparently they require an updated board to enable them to function correctly & as I'm in Australia I haven't done anything about updating mine yet. This became apparent during Beta testing of V3. A couple of us were having issues & it turned out to be our older yokes. This problem is negated if you us a registered version of FSUIPC which I do so I'm in no rush to update the board. As for Hall sensors, no doubt they are good however my analogue pots still work perfectly after all this time so if as the seller states he has hardly used the units then you should have no problem. One thing about the PFC units, they are built to last. There has been another issue with my yoke in that the spring system for the aileron control used to cause an annoying clicking when used in roll command. I have negated this by removing the springs & replaced them with a rubber cord which was easy to do & has lasted over a year so far with regular use. I would suggest if the price is right they will most likely do the job for you quite nicely. Using FSUIPC is a must I have found whether the yoke works with the sim or not.
  10. Haven't flown it for a while, got sick of the severe stuttering but frames would have been in reasonable weather, not thick, where you would most likely see some issues. I was testing in light conditions to confirm the problem was aircraft related & not sim/weather. P3D 2.4 seems to run a bit smoother for me so I'll probably dust her off again soon & see how it goes. Not expecting any improvement where the G1000 is concerned though unfortunately.
  11. The blue I saw is a recent experience & looks far from natural. Also it covered the ground & ocean as far as I could see & I was at 20,000 odd feet.
  12. I'm seeing this also. I use REX4 for clouds & ASD for weather & have seen this twice recently, & it covered the whole area as though a low visibility issue more so than fog. Only lasted for a minute or so then cleared. Ross

Hi Shaun, Not sure about a tutorial but a search on Google got me a copy of the Pilots Operating Handbook which gives greater detail regarding checks & start procedures than supplied by Carenado. Their docs are installed into the sim under the Carenado Folder from memory and the start up procedures & checks are pretty reasonable as they are taken from the genuine copy. Their doc for the G1000 is pretty hopeless, fortunately there's also a PDF file available for this which was pretty easy to find via a Google search. Does show how much is missing from this gauge in the sim though. Cheers, Ross

  17. I have just purchased this aircraft & find it runs very well & smooth in FSX however in P3D V2.1 once the G1000 is switched on I get nasty stutters despite my fps showing in the 60's. Have tried numerous scenery & graphics settings but nothing seems to fix it. I'm running an i7 4770K @ 4.5 with 4Gb Ram & a OC GTX770 hence very good frames. Odd I should be getting these stutters when the G1000 is fully on. PDF1 in "start" mode doesn't seem to affect it. Anybody else had similar experience? Cheers, Ross

  20. Just checked at YBCS & still shows a right turn after 400ft. Parked at International terminal Gate4. Odd!
  21. Dave, the Navdata I'm using is the one that came with the T7. That's interesting Steve, will set the aircraft at Cairns again next time I use it & see what the track looks like then. Hopefully it was only a temporary glitch. Will let you know.
  22. Don't know if this has been previously reported but a search didn't show anything. Just setting up a flight out of YBCS Cairns Australia & discovered the Rwy 15 Swift 7 STAR is wrong. Has you doing a right turn into the mountain range instead of left turn out over the sea. First time I've found this to be incorrect. Was OK for NGX737. Will have to do it manually which will be a bit of fun! Ross Casey

  24. G'day OzWhitey, Just saw this post. I'm in Brisbane & have had my SAAB Desktop now for several years. It's the older design with springs instead of the current bungie design & I must admit that I've had a problem with the spring system. About a week after it arrived I started getting an annoying click/clunk in the roll axes which I finally fixed by removing the aileron springs & replaced them with rubber "o" rings which work very well. They do break after some months but replacing them is a quick & easy job. The resulting "feel" is so smooth it's worth the five minute job every now & then. Would have sent it back for replacement if the shipping costs at the time weren't about $400.00 each way!! As for the micro stutters mentioned I can't say I've experienced any of those. Operation of the yoke is stutter free in all axis & absolutely head & shoulders above any of the CH (2 models) or Saitek (3) units Iv'e had previously. Buttons are heavy duty & work very well also. Shipping to Oz was a problem for me also but fortunately at the time I purchased my daughter was in Canada for a friends wedding so I got it shipped there & she brought it home as luggage. Iv'e flown Cessna's (152, 172, 177) Pipers (PA28 140, 180, 180R), Beech Sundowners & Trinidad TB20 over the years & although the PFC yoke is not really like any of them I can't see that being an issue. The feel of real controls is so different I don't think any flight sim controller is going to really replicate it that closely. Having said that I believe of all the yokes Iv'e used the PFC certainly comes closest. I found that I have had to place mine on a thin rubber mat I bought at Clark Pools because the further you pull or push these yokes the harder they become & I found that although the unit is quite heavy it would move at extreme elevator movements. I use mine for all aircraft types including the PMDG B737 & find it does the job very well. I did miss the hat switch initially however as I use TrackIR I really didn't need it & don't consider it an issue. Cheers, Ross
  25. Re the PFC yokes. I've had a PFC Cirrus SAAB desktop for two years now & can only say the elevator has been silky smooth at all times. Binding was a pet hate of mine with previous yokes I had including the Saitek. Hope they have fixed it on this latest model as flying one handed is certainly what I was taught to do as one hand should be on the throttle in case it is required in a hurry. A smooth elevator movement certainly helps to flare in the sim for a nice touchdown! Cheers, Ross
