the mission system

is it just me or is the classification slightly flawed? im finding some advanced missions 1000 times easier then intermediate missions...

It isn't just you, or your computer. I find that I just have to fly the missions that work and forget the rest irrespective of whether they are called "Beginners" "Intermediate" or "Advanced". I find that I cannott fly "Quito Approach" which is an Advanced flight because the aircraft cannott turn right to heading 350 and it loses speed and crashes. If anyone wants to try that one, let me know how you go...........Normael.Email:[email protected]

No problems with Quito Approach on my end. The mission works just fine. What are you doing that is causing you to lose speed?

The Missions were made by a wide variety of developers, as far as I know. What they would call easy, medium, and hard, seems subjective and variable to their level of experience with the sim. The reality is that easy, medium, and hard are just descriptors in a line of code, like the little pictures of the chilis in a menu for a Vietnamese restaurant. I've crashed and burned some easy Missions and aced a few hard ones.I think the quality of your controllers makes a big difference. I nailed Loopy Larry on the first try, which isn't right. I use rudder pedals, a good throttle joystick and TrackIR, which makes a world of difference. They filmed a documentary with Kent Pietch, who seems to be the inspiration for Loopy Larry, at my local airport. If I would have known they were filming there, I would have been there in a heartbeat. The idea of the show was to prove how hard the Loopy Larry stunt really is. They took these pilots with no hours on the Piper Cadet, strapped them in, and told them to stick the landing on the moving RV. After many attempts, one fellow nearly made it, but he also nearly crashed. It's a remarkably harrowing manoeuvre. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

I am not doing anything to make it lose speed. At least I can now turn right to 350 whereas before it wanted to turn left................normael

also, for a change you can try flying missions using some addon jets instead of the default.btw any suggestions for good addon adventures for heavies? there are many out there for real routes but dont know if they have any hidden surprises rather than regular takeoff-cruise-landing.
