How does Legacy run in FSX (w/Vista 64)?

Featured Replies

Thinking about installing (again) Legacy ERJ-135 in FSX. I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I recall a while back I attempted to install the FSX version--and it showed up with no textures after I selected it (although in the main opening screen it did show up with textures). Do I let it install to C:/FSX or do I point it to C:/FSX/simobjects/airplanes? Is there a specific way addon aircraft need to be installed into FSX?I just reinstalled Legacy X and it installs fine but when I select it from main screen--it's all white--no textures on the aircraft spinning around. I checked simobjects/airplane and Legacy X folder is there, with all the textures, and aircaft.cfg has all the right entries. Also, would like to add some other complex aircraft to FSX--I've got all the PMDG/Level D etc on the FS9 side--I tried Wilco Airbus X but the VC cockpit has too many switches/functions that don't work so I uninstalled.ThanksRich Perry

i have most wilco stuff, i ahve installed some on my new vista64 system , and i have not noticed any of the issues you mention.Sounds to me like you have installed FSX under c\progamfiles / c\progamfilesx86.If so , you need to uninstall FSX from this path , and put it somewhere like C\FSXpeople always said installing FSX in the defualt windows path causes things to fail due to vista's over powering security features. So on my system i installed FSX on a seperate drive, but C\FSX on OS folder will also do.But something you could try before reinstall is to disable UAC in vista see if that solves it, or try reinstall your broken aircrafts after disabling UAC.If that does not work, then by all means reinstall FSX. C\FSX.

Thanks...I've installed it at C:/FSX and not default (program (x86))...I also have had UAC disabled since I got the computer several weeks ago. When I select fly...it loads ok at the saved location...but the VC is all white (no guages etc) and the exterior is all white. However, when I loaded Airbus from Wilco it worked fine. I'll give the Citation X a shot and if it works there must be something unique to Legacy...if they had a forum, I'd use it.Conundrum.RP

There is something uique to legacy, pretty sure you do have to correct the cfg, can't remember what but may have been the model=noeye, anyway maybe my entries can help you. Your problem sounded very familiar - pretty sure it was the cfg, but there are other issues.you will not have instrument panel lighting at night - it isn't flyable at night. Other problems such as the opaque windows etc. the rain problem (forgot the details) have fixes but I seem to recall that sp2 caused problems that they refuse to fix and the devs/distrib couldn't care less for a product they argue was a free port from fs9 - even if it wasn't advertised as such. you might also find there is no HUD in the vc as advertised.anyway all part and parcel of what we have become accustomed to from certain devs.jlm[fltsim.4]title=PIC Legacy HBJEOsim=emb135bjmodel=panel=sound=texture=HBJEOchecklists=ui_manufacturer=Embraer - feelThere/Wilcoui_type=Legacyui_variation=Embraer HBJEOui_typerole="Business Jet"ui_createdby="feelThere/Wilco"atc_heavy=0atc_id=atc_airline=atc_flight_number=6201description=Embraer Legacy\nDeveloped by www.feelThere.com \nPublished by Wilco Publishing www.wilcopub.com \n\nSupport at www.feelthere.com - www.wilcopub.com \nPlease set general realism slider to maximum.[fltsim.5]title=PIC Legacy HBJEO - No eye-candy featuressim=emb135bjmodel=noeyepanel=sound=texture=HBJEOchecklists=ui_manufacturer=Embraer - feelThere/Wilcoui_type=Legacy - No eye-candy featuresui_variation=Embraer HBJEOui_typerole="Business Jet"ui_createdby="feelThere/Wilco"atc_heavy=0atc_id=atc_airline=atc_flight_number=6201description=Embraer Legacy\nDeveloped by www.feelThere.com \nPublished by Wilco Publishing www.wilcopub.com \n\nSupport at www.feelthere.com - www.wilcopub.com \nPlease set general realism slider to maximum.

i have not had chance to fly legacy since installed on vista64, but i quick check reveals the cockpit lights dont work for me also. Apart from that all else looks fine.there is a vcrain fix for legacy vc issues when it rains, cause sometimes windows go grey when it rains.my wilco citationx works perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!eaglesoft citationx on the other hand, crashes FSX as soon as i open atc window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
