June 20, 200916 yr Hi,The absolute first thing to do is a thorough defrag. Both on the Windows and the FS partitionAlso to check the virtual memory settings, and on which partition you have the memory alocated.. Staffan

Both on the Windows and the FS partitionAlso to check the virtual memory settings, and on which partition you have the memory alocated..Hi Staffan. Thanks for responding. Both partitions have been defragged. My VM settings are as follows:1 page file on Drive C, 2046 GB to 4096 GB in size.Do you think this is adequate & is set up correctly? I have 3 GB RAM in the system.
June 20, 200916 yr open up Task Manager and FileMon (freeware software), and monitor the situation. Whenever FS9 stutters, look for which process is eating up the CPU, and then check Filemon to see which exact file is accessed. Most likely a virus scanner or Firewall program is doing something. Or a third party program is "calling home" to look for updates (such as Quicktime, Adobe Acrobat, etc)...also try FS9 w/ the network unplugged...With your system specs, you shouldn't have stutters at all...-feng

I have 3 GB RAM in the system.Hi,Looks good so far.Change the VM to the partition with the simulator. Or if it is already alocated to that partition,...try to change it to the Windows partition, and see if there is any change.Look at the bottom of the VM settings page, and check what the "Reccomended" size of the page file should be. Then try to write that value in both minimum and maximum to see if any difference in the FS performance.. :( Staffan

I then installed FS9 & patch to drive 1. Installed all UTs & a few airports, keeping in mind the priorities. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm about to do a test flight. :(
