FSX Fatal Error

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a problem with getting the Fatal Error message and then flight simulator wants to restart and I lose everything that I was just doing. For example if I am in a flight, and I am on 8x time acceleration and I go back to 4x, the scenery and everything has to reload. When it starts to reload and gets to 100% it just stays there for a few seconds and then the fatal error message comes up. This doesn't happen everytime I do this, just most of the time. Its also not only on using time acceleration, but if I try to bring up the map or open a flight plan in flight. Usually it does it with the time acceleration though. I have defraged, disk clean up, restart and all of that to my computer and that doesn't help any. Any ideas, where to begin to look/check? Thanks

I've never been able to get 8x to work. I hope I'm wrong, but it may not work at all.Bob

It has happend to me and what I found, by trial and error, its the AI traffic causing the crash. If I have 0% ai traffic it works fine. I think it might have something to do with flight schedules

8x works fine for me..I don't like using it often..4x is plenty fine for me but sometimes I accidentally hit the 8x button and when I try to go back boom that happens.

Like somebody here mentioned its most likelly to do with sliders being too high for your system.I used to get this on an old fsx install, but i havent seen it on my new i7920 system. However PMDG used to cause this on my new system also. Try turning down, not just traffic but scenery setting too.
