June 25, 200916 yr Which rudder pedals are best for FSX? I can't decide between the Saitek and CH Products. Or is there anything better?
June 25, 200916 yr hello,I would go for the peddals from Saitek. My friend has them (I have the Ch-peddals) and they work smoother than mine.If you ask if there are better...Yes there are.I have also a set from Elite. They are top of the bill BUT..... they will not work on 64bit OS.And they have other drawbacks. Even if they are USB connected, the need a specific driver which is not recognised in the calibration routine of FsXAnother brand that is worth checking out is Cirrus.I know the brand, but I have never used them myself.Luc BrusselmansBelgium
June 25, 200916 yr They're both pretty good, personally I have (and prefer) the Saitek ones, they are very robust and I like the tension adjustment on them.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 25, 200916 yr They're both pretty good, personally I have (and prefer) the Saitek ones, they are very robust and I like the tension adjustment on them.Al I consider the Saetek to be a middling option, but they are way better than no pedals at all, and I would reccommend them. There are better, there are worse. The price point for Saetek is okay, and they are fairly easy to find in larger electronics stores, so in the unlikely event you have a problem with them you can possibly deal with the store for a replacement.Be sure to read the manual! It's very small, but important. If you miss a little switch, you won't be able to calibrate them properly. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
June 26, 200916 yr I have no problems with my Saitek rudder pedals or their flight yoke. Their throttle quadrants are another story. I have two quadrants and both of them wore out the potentiometers that resulted in spikes. Hopefully they will put in better pots in the future to make them more usable as I really like the design of them.
