I can't use ground shadows with the any version of drivers on this card. They flicker and flacker and look like garbage anyone else getting this? It's with DX9 Thanks

I got that with the 8600GT and with my current card 260 GTX, I just leave it off.

I don't have ground shadows enabled, but made a test flight over London with shadows enabled. Oh yes - a lot of flickering. I use the 186.18 nVIDIA drivers.

Ya never had a problem with shadows in FS9. I even notice that in some of the engine nacelles, that the blades are effected by this shadow issue also. They are functional but don't look nearly as good as I know they are supposed to look.

I made some more tests with ground shadows enabled in DX9. I hade no or very little problems with flickering building textures over North American cities (Vancouver, Seattle and New York). But over London, some building textures where flickering like mad. So I guess there are some textures that produce this problem for me, not all of them. But the solution for me is very simple. I normally run FSX with ground shadows disabled. Saves me a lot of fps and the ground shadows add very little eye candy, as autogen buildings doesn't have any shadows at all.
