Display Problem

Can anyone help me understand this peculiar problem ? Just added a Dell SE198WSP LCD to my rig, 1280 X 1024 @32. Looks good, BUT, everytime I start FSP9, the whole system reboots after 5 mins into a flight. Other apps on my system are working just fine, this only occurs with FS9. My "dinosaur" is an ASUS MB, 2 Ghz Celeron, 1 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256 MB vid card, WIN XP SP3.I've looked at every setting I can find but can't resolve this problem yet. Thanks in advanceCharlie

If your system is rebooting you probably have a hardware issue. I suggest you make sure there is thermal paste in liquid form between your CPU and heatsink, and that your various fans are clean and operational. Beyond that you may need to run a memory test.

Random reboots is often bad ram, I think the new monitor is just a coincidence.Try removing all but one stick and see how it goes.Good luck :)

Thanks, that does appear to be the problem. The PSU is heating up quickly during an FS9 session be fore the reboot occurs. I've always left the computer running, so I believe I've contributed to the demise of that component. Fans are blowing directly on the video and sound cards, too. Not sure if they are affected or not. I'm gonna have to replace parts one at a time.Charlie

Thanks, but only have one stick at this time. I've tested and believe the hardware problem is the PSU, it heats up considerably during an FS9 session be fore the machine reboots. The internal fan also flucuates a bit during that time, as well. Looks like I;ve got to start saving my pennies for new parts. Charlie
