July 6, 200916 yr Hello fellow sim aviators!I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced my problem in FSX. It goes kinda like this. ( I'll use KPHL runway 27R as an example.) As I'm flying to the IAF which is "SPEEZ" for this particular approach, I notice that my CDI or HSI will give me "reverse sensing" for the localizer frequency 108.95, as if I'm flying a Back Course Approach, not the "direct sensing" that it should resd to me. That, to say the least, is extremely disorienting, especially when in the "soup". Whatever has happened here, has effected a great many of the ILS's in the program, although, some still actually work. Real strange! Does anyone know what I can do to correct this problem short of a total re-install?Thanks for any help!Vic
July 7, 200916 yr That can sometimes happen when a runway has ILS equipment at both ends using the same frequency. MS sets the backcourse signal as being available for localizers (even when that is not realistic) and sometimes the aircraft NAV will see the back course of the the near (reciprocal end) localizer, instead of the desired front course. It can be fixed using a tool like ADE (requires SDK from FSX deluxe, gold, or xpack) to disable the backcourse signals.scott s..
