Updating the PMDG NG FMC Navdata in FS2002

Featured Replies

I'm still flying FS2002 partly because Dreamfleet never ported over its B737-400 to FS2004 and partly because you don't have to have an installation CD in the drive to run it!Anyway, I finally decided to get into using the FMC/CDU on PMDG's NG for FS2002 and need to find out how to update the navdata. I tried coping the contents of the FS2004\PMDG\SIDSTARS folder into it's FS2002 counterpart but this had no effect.I found a "FMCWP" folder in FS2002 whose contents appear to be navdata files as well for the 0812 cycle. Is this folder overriding the \PMDG\SIDSTARS folder? At anyrate, the navdata installer Navigraph provides only installs the navdata for FS2004 and FSX. Terry Yingling use to provide update files for the FMC navdata that you simply unzipped into the SIDSTARS folder. As I recall he had to stop this service when his source for the information stopped making the data available to the public free of charge (or something along those lines). At any rate, I'd like to update the PMDG B737 NG FMC to the current cycle. I'd appreciate any help from anyone on how to do this. Without some help I'll be forced to use the PMDG FMC with a badly outdated cycle (0812)!The folks at Navigraph still provide updates for the Dreamfleet B737-400 FMC. I wish they still supported the FS2002 PMDG FMC!

Disregard! Problem solved! A "senior moment" of sorts (I'm only 53!) prevented me from remembering that you can change the folder name to FS2002 in the navigraph installer! Of course this only occurred to me AFTER I posted the previous plea for help!
