New Computer, New Problems

Recommended Posts

I hope this is in the right forum.Last weekend I upgraded my computer at home. The specs are as follows:Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 8200 at 233 GHz 2.34 GHz8 GB RAM64-Bit OSI'm having difficulty getting any of my add-ons to run in either FS2004 or FSX.Is this the 64-bit problem or is there a special way that I should be installing the programs (i.e., Windows XP compatibility)?Any help would be appreciated.Bob Jones

Most of my Wilco/FeelThere, PMDG. I haven't tried loading the LevelD yet or my Flight1 stuff. What's UAC??BobPS: Wilco says that they don't support 64-bit so I'm not surprised that the Airbus in particular is difficult.

UAC = User Account Control. You can and should shut it off in the control panel.Even though you are using a 64-bit system your old 32-bit programs (like FSX and add-ons) should run under your OS. I assume you are using Vista 64-bit?

Sorry I just figured out what UAC was. I'll try again and see what happens.

Turned off the UAC and now everything seems to load and run just fine. Thanks for the help!
