July 18, 200916 yr I am running PMDG MD-11 on FS2004.Whenever I run the installer for a new livery, it fails to appear in the aircraft menu within flightsim. It's like nothings happened. But when I check the aircraft folder on the C drive, the AAL.texture folder appears as if it installed normally. It's not just the AAL livery, I just used that as an example. None of them work.Any ideas? Thanks!
July 18, 200916 yr Godfather,Sometimes the installer doesn't properly number the section of the aircraft config that describes the livery to FSX. Open your aircraft.cfg file and look through all your [fltsim.x] sections. They should be numbered sequentially, beginning with zero: [fltsim.0], [fltsim.1], [fltsim.2] and so on. If there are any numbers that are duplicated, the liveries won't show up.Simply change any duplicates to so that they're all numbered sequentially, save the aircraft.cfg file and it should work. Only reason I ask is because I installed a livery and couldn't find it. It turned out it was a different engine type. It was a total " DOH!" moment.RegardsRichie Richie Walsh

Only thing I found out of place in the aircraft.cfg file is one of the lines out of order. But when I try to save after I fix it, it will not allow me to save the new .cfg file.I've never had a problem redoing am aircraft.cfg file. What gives??PS:Im running FS2004 not FSX
July 18, 200916 yr Sorry for the FSX reference, I caught the FS2004 in your original post but wrote "FSX" out of habit...it's the same issue in both sims.Don't know why you can't save the aircraft.cfg file. Is it read-only for some reason? And while we're at it -- were any of the new liveries mentioned in the [fltsim.x] sections of the aircraft.cfg? Also, please sign your full real name to your posts, per the forum requirements. But still no joy. Yes the [flightsim.2] is in there. What I tried next was to copy the entire [flightsim.0] section, and only changed the.0 to .2, and the texture folder from =GE to =AA.Still, does not show up in flightsim. I am at a loss.
July 19, 200916 yr Omar,If you copied the entire [fltsim.0] section and only changed the "0" to a "2", you may have gotten an alert when you started up the sim that you had two aircraft with the same name. Each title line must be unique, and each UI_variation line must be unique.
