BSOD with lots of saitek stuff

Featured Replies

Hello all,Got a fresh install of FSX sp2 running, vista 64. Connected up my saitek yoke (w/ single quadrant), rudder, switch panel, radio panel to the FSX PC.The FSX PC is also acting as server to two saitek Flight Instrument Panels that are physically connected to a seperate laptop.I fire up TrackIR5, then the "Saitek Panels plugin for FSX", then FSX on the main PC.Once in FSX, i go to laptop to start the SaiFlightSimX client process to drive the flight instrument panels.EVerything seems to work fine for an indeterminate amount of time, before i get a BSOD which mentions USB BUS in it.One time it happened literally as i tried to increase the throttle (on the saitek quadrant) from zero.Another time, it happened after i was playing with the saitek radio panel, then used the mouse to press the COM2 button in the virtual/3d cockpit. So im unsure if its an issue with the USB controller on my PC, or if its something funky with these Saitek drivers (versions downloaded from Saitek on 21july).Has anyone else experienced problem whilst using the yoke+rudder+radio+switch panel? The items connected to the main FSX machine are all connected to mainboard usb ports, not seperate usb hub etc.I'll have a play isolating the items (i.e. not playing with all at once) to see what happens...just wanted to throw this out there in case others are suffering also.

I use some of the Saitek's Hardware (Yoke, TQ, X52 and pedals) and never have an issue like this. Many of the USB bus problems occurs, when there is no power available on the cables. Try to connect it through powered USB hub. The only disadvantages are one free plug (which is a problem for us, simmers) and one more cable :)
