July 24, 200916 yr Hey folks, Just installed RCv4, using FSX on Vista home premium sp2. First, I downloaded and installed FSUIPC4 and AdvDisp, placed both in modules folder as required. FSUIPC shows up in the Addons part of the taskbar in FSX, but AdvDisp has no section. When I click the "run" button in RC, I get a runtime 9 error: " Radarcontact.rcv4module.initialize". Is there something I am doing wrong? Since it will probably be asked, I am using the default FS flight planer. Tried different routes but same result.
July 24, 200916 yr Remove advdisplay.dll from your modules folder as the messages now will be in the FSUIPC/RC window. Make sure you have the current version of FSUIPC4 installed from the link at the forum top. On the FSUIPC4 general tab be sure you have multi-line messages enabled.Check your version of RC. It should be 4.3.0.3843 or later. If you do not have it send an e-mail to [email protected] including your e-mail address at the time of your order and he'll reply with a link.Make sure in your RC setup you have the full path to FSX setup correctly and the full path to where your .flt and .pln files are usually under your personal folder. For WinXP it is under your My Documents/Flight Simulator Files but put the full path in.You may need the newest RC4.3 manual:http://www.jdtllc.com/documentation.htmWhile you are there look at the Quick Start document which includes installation details. With Vista you need to create an RC4 shortcut with properties set to run as administrator. When that is done you should be able to run the scenery rebuild from within RC. Also make sure you have the latest makerwys.etc installed from the same link above as FSUIPC. It goes into your FSX folder but do not use it directly in there. That will create your runways and airport files from your FS folder. Again, when asked, put the full path in to your FSX folder. You should see makerwys dialog box with an increasing runway count. When it is done and you click OK then you should see a few RC dialog OK boxes regarding copying and creating files. You can verify that the rc data files were built by going into your RC4\data folder and looking for r5 or r4.csv and a4.csv checking on their modified dates by right clicking on them and selecting properties.
