They have to start again with a new graphics engine, and that will take time. No longer can they just keep bolting stuff on. Because performance was getting exponentially worse.

It's good to hear FS9 works in the new OS without hacking it. I wonder how most of the add-ons will fare...

FS2020

Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB DLSS 3 - HP Reverb G2

Les,So far, so good (for me anyways); installations much the same as vista: install as admin, tone down UAC etc etc. Not found anything problematic that installed under Vista and not in W7. Oh, and performance..much, much sweeter under the new OS!

I am not going to make a new topic for this, but i really hope you can help me.When Windows 7 came out I was one of those who downloaded it and installed. Now, today, i reinstalled my Flight Simulator 2004 on this computer. For my suprise, the framerates are very bad. When i had XP on this machine, i had 25fps locked all the time, no matter where or what addon i had. But now, if it goes over 10fps i am very lucky to get that. Even with default Cessna and Seattle. I have tried everything. Installing the update didn't help, downloaded resized textures, tweaked my FS9.CFG and still no progress on getting better framerates.I've read many topics about how they all say that FS2004 runs even better on Windows7 than it did on XP.Does anyone have any idea how to get my FPS back to normal? For additional information, i don't have my settings set "Ultra High" and "Max". They are way less than they should be to enjoy something from that virtual environment.Any help/suggestion is very welcome.:)
