PMDG 737 App

Featured Replies

Is it only me posting in this forum ATM? LOLSorry I'm completely confused right now (as always :()OK, so basically I have made an edit of the PMDG (For private use unfortunately due to copyright reasons) and I have 2 panel bitmaps. The main panel is finished with all the gauges in place and edited etc. etc.Now I am onto my approach panel and I need the same gauges as the Main panel but with different background bitmaps, I know this is possible as PMDG did it with their own approach panel. In the default panel.cfg that came with the PMDG 737, for the approach panel, it has exactly the same gauges as their main panel but with 'APP' put after each one - this somehow allows a copy of that gauge but with different background bitmaps while not affecting the same gauge that is on the main panel.I hope someone can make sense of what I'm trying to do here! Thanks!

Not 100% sure what you're trying to accomplish here, but if you're trying to just change the graphics on lets say that particular gauge then what you would have to do is get some sort of program which allows you to edit the bitmaps of gauges. There are lots of programs which allow you to do this some freeware some not, try searching google for a gauge bitmap editor. I know FSPanel Studio allows this, and there are some programs at Simviation.

HiThanks for your reply! I have edited all the PMDG gauges on my main panel with a program called PE explorer. What I am trying to accomplish is having the same gauge on 2 different panels (main panel/approach panel) but different gauge bitmaps/colours for the approach panel than the main panel. For example, I have my MCP on both panels but I need to slightly change the colour of it to suit my approach panel, how do I do this without changing the colour of my MCP on my main panel?I know that it is confusing :(Thanks for any help you can give!

Not sure that you can do that, but you can create the illusion that you have lets say you create another window or gauge that is a painted version of the gauge you want, with cutouts to allow for the parts that need to be visible on the other side, you would have to have this on top of that gauge though.Non-the-less, this is a pretty tricky and non-practical thing to do so I'm not sure.Good Luck!

Try sending Ed a PM, he doesn't usually help much but he might be able to point you the the direction to which you can help yourself. :(

Need nice panel btmaps as mine are rubbish! obv ed won't share (btw i'm a begginer and is/are rubbish at making bitmaps) would you be willing to PM yours??PLZ PLZ PLZ Nail%20Biting.gifBatting%20Eyelashes.gif

I think the only way to easily accomplish the same gauge with 2 different color schemes is to copy and rename the original.Edit the "new" gauge's bitmaps. You will now have 2 identical gauges with diff colors.Use the new gauge name in the panel.cfg. Might be worth a try..Don
