-1 Ping on Gamespy

Featured Replies

I try to host a game on gamespy fsx, (never in free flight though, usually airliners), but no one ever joins. I know i get -1 usually as ping, I am using a wireless router (with wireless LAN card). What can I do to make my ping better? (DMZ On, Firewall allows FSX)

That just means your 'port forwarding' on your router/modem isnt set. It's no big deal and shouldnt affect anyone joining, but they might not know that.

How can I set port forwarding so I have yellow or green bars?

It should be in your router/modem manual, or call the manufactor, they usually have a website with a toll free number for support. All brands are slightly different and they can walk you through it

I mean I know how to port foward, just what do I forward and to where? :(

Its a setting that allows your router to be 'seen', so it can be pinged, call the manufactor of your router and ask them how.

I believe this option is "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" on Linksys WRT54G. This should allow the router to be "Pinged." I just unchecked it, will see if it works this evening.

Hm... still no one joins, possibly it's still -1 Ping? I even tried in Free Flight.

I believe the ports you need to forward are UDP ports 6112-6122.

If you want to launch a session, I will take a look at your connection from the lobby. Let me know what the session name is and what lobby you are in.... I would subbest any lobby other than the default, that one is a circus. It might take a while to check back for your reply, so leave it up if you can

I'm hosting a session at the default room now, since no ones at the Airliners Room.Session Name: Miami Int'l ATC PRO
