RAM for FSX

Hello again everybody. My final decision for my FSX dedicated upgrade regards the RAM. Corsair for instance seems to make a few varieties of RAM at the same speed.Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x 2GB XMS3) TR3X6G1600C7 Ram $214.50Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x XMS3 2GB) TR3X6G1600C7D Ram $255.20 Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x XMS3 2GB) TR3X6G1600C8 Ram $177.10 Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x XMS3 2GB) TR3X6G1600C8D Ram $224.40 Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x XMS3 2GB) TR3X6G1600C9 Ram $171.60 All prices in Australian dollars.What do the last digit (7,8 or 9) and the final D mean?Which RAM is best suited for FSX?Regards,Stephen.P.S. I can't afford the 2000 RAM after an Asus P6T-DELUXE-V2 Intel Mainboard, i7 950 CPU and GTX285 card.

The last number is the CAS timing...the number of clock cycles the memory controller has to wait for stable data on the bus. Lower is better--at 1600 MHz, CAS 6 is high perf, CAS 7 is OK, 8 and 9 are the skunky slow economy grade stuff. The "D" is probably for "Dominator," which I believe is Corsair's higher-perf heatsink (not really needed if your case is properly ventilated IMHO). CAS 9 with enhanced heatsinks is a pretty goofy combo. My advice--get the first one on the list--CAS 7 with regular heatsink clips.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
