August 7, 200916 yr The only possibility I see would be the engine spool up rate found in the air file. Otherwise, I'm guessing it is hard coded into the MDL file. You didn't say which aircraft you were concerned with, but another possibility would be the number of packs you have running during start. On a three pack system, if you turn all packs off, the engine spools rather quickly, but not as quickly as you have indicated. Under normal circumstances, the engines are started with either all packs off, or one out of three packs on. I haven't really experienced this problem with the aircraft I fly, so I am not entirely sure. Although most engines on full turbine engines are started by either ground, APU bleed or Other engine bleed, there are a few out there that are electric start. These are usually smaller aircraft or GA type aircraft. Bottom line, you probably can't change the spool up speed from where you have it by any means that I know of.
