MSFS Auto FPS App
Hi , Running 9800X3D + RTX 5080 16GB + 64GB DDR5 running MSFS 2024 on a 43" 4K 60Hz monitor. These are my current AutoFPS settings: (Attach both screenshots here: AutoFPS window + performance overlay) I’m mostly flying heavy airliners (Fenix and iniBuilds). Question: Do these AutoFPS settings look correct? Is there anything weird or that I should change to improve performance / VRAM usage? Thanks in advance! White halo / ghosting effect panning camera in MSFS 2024
It seems to me that Nvidia has abandoned us.... I just switched to the 5080, since the 5090 is way too expensive now. I was hoping for a SUPER edition with 18/20/24 GB, but Nvidia seems to be abandoning it. However, even with the 5080, it runs well. It seems that if you don't have a €6000 computer, you can forget about MSFS, unless you want to play on your phone's screen. Let's see if Asobo manages to do something to reduce VRAM in the next patches.

White halo / ghosting effect panning camera in MSFS 2024
Yes, it was indeed a Frame Generation issue. After testing several things, I confirmed that the white halo/ghosting when panning the camera quickly and some weird brightness artifacts were mainly caused by Frame Generation (both from the RTX 5080 and the TV’s motion smoothing). Independently of this, does anyone know how to effectively reduce VRAM usage in MSFS 2024? I have a fairly strong setup (Ryzen 9800X3D + RTX 5080 16GB + 64GB RAM) and I’m struggling to understand why VRAM usage spikes so much even with Medium-Low settings (easily reaching 13-14GB in medium-dense airports). What are the settings that consume the most VRAM? Thanks in advance!

White halo / ghosting effect panning camera in MSFS 2024
Hi everyone, I’m getting a strange white halo / ghosting effect when moving the camera quickly with pan view in MSFS 2024. It is especially noticeable around the aircraft edges against the sky. My current settings: TAA NVIDIA Frame Generation ON Anisotropic Filtering 16x NVIDIA Control Panel: V-Sync ON Triple Buffering ON PC Specs: Ryzen 7 9800X3D 64GB DDR5 6000 RTX 5080 Sony KD-43XE7096 43” 4K 60Hz TV The issue looks like motion ghosting or a trailing halo effect during fast camera movement. Has anyone experienced this with a 60Hz TV or Sony TVs specifically? Could it be related to motion processing, response time, Frame Generation, or V-Sync settings? Any help would be appreciated. Help with new PC Build
juaness replied to juaness's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI don't know if SU5 will be enough to use the 5080 on a 4K monitor. I haven't found a good review of the 5080 and its VRAM usage in MSFS.

Help with new PC Build
Just finished my new build: - Ryzen 7 9800X3D - ASUS TUF B850 Gaming - 64GB DDR5 6000 CL30 - RTX 4070 Ti Honestly, I expected a bigger jump in MSFS 2024 performance. Even with this setup, I still struggle at heavy airports like iniBuilds EGLL using the iniBuilds A350, and that’s without AI traffic. FPS can initially look good, but they progressively drop during the session, especially on the ground. Once I add AI traffic, things become much worse. I mostly fly in 4K (sony TV 43”) and I’m starting to think the oldest/weaker part of the system now is probably the RTX 4070 Ti. I’m considering upgrading to an RTX 5080. For those already using one in MSFS 2024, especially with demanding aircraft/sceneries, did you notice a significant improvement in: - ground performance, - VRAM usage, - frame consistency, - long-flight FPS degradation? Would love to hear your experiences before making the jump. Thanks!

Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024
Honestly, it seems like ASOBO just refuses to get rid of the well known “halo” effect at night lighting. We’re still seeing lights as huge blobs from miles away, or even worse, cruising at high altitude an spotting airport below lit up like beacons…

MSFS 2024 – Runway/taxiway/city lights too big at night
Do we know if SU5 will finally get rid of those radioactive mushroom lights at airports? I honestly can’t understand what happened to the lighting from 2020 to 2024… they just had to copy and paste it. Yesterday I was looking at a strobe light and it looked as bad as in FSX/P3D — just a tiny white dot flashing with that horrible 4-point halo

Thanks a lot for the info, really appreciate it. That actually looks like a nice improvement over SU4. I’ll definitely try the FLYT Enhanced Runway Lights and also kiwikat’s DarkStreets addon. I’ve just switched from 2020 to 2024 and was quite surprised to see some lighting looking worse in certain situations. Yesterday I also noticed the strobe lights looked pretty unrealistic, almost like going back to FSX/P3D days. Looking forward to seeing what SU5 brings!

MSFS 2024 – Runway/taxiway/city lights too big at night
Thanks a lot for the info, really appreciate it. I’ll definitely give that addon a try. I’ve just moved from 2020 to 2024 and honestly I didn’t expect this aspect to feel worse. On my very first flight I actually had to turn off the landing lights because they were creating a sort of dense white fog in front of the aircraft… pretty surreal. Really hope Asobo revisits this at some point, as it breaks immersion quite a bit.
