Cloud Generation Question

Featured Replies

I have been accumulating a lot of add-ons lately, and I suddenly realized that I am not sure what I have got into here. My situation is that I am running Active Sky 6.5 for the weather. I am not sure if that controls the graphical appearance of the clouds? I then just added the Real Environment Pro for FS2004 free add-on from the Real Environment Extreme website.I guess I am asking at what point am I adding on too much stuff and what piece of software actually wins in controlling the cloud graphics when more than one is running? Hope this makes sense.thanks.John

many people use active sky to control where the clouds/ weather is etc and something like RE or fs elemental . imo, active sky alone is good enough, but i also got fs elemental which also adds graphics but does alot more also such as better lights on runway. i use AS6.5 and FSE. i do have real environment but dont use it.

Hi John,The quick answer is whatever you use last before starting FS is being shown.REP doesn't contain clouds so you are using clouds from FS or from Active Sky Graphics. You are right, there is some overlap between products. Thanks,

Also, as far as i remember, AS does not load clouds automatically. You must go into the AS Graphics and pick which ones you want (or set it to weather influenced), load them into the sim folder, then run AS normally for weather. Not sure if you did that or not.
