Hi,Would anyone know the answer or a fix for this problem, gettingthis error a few minutes after starting FSX:Runtime Error, Program:E:\program....R6025 - Pure Virtual Function CallMicrosoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryHave already removed and re-installed the Microsoft Visual C++ library from MS.I noticed that the problem occurs more as soon as I select any Addon Aircraft. This only started a few days ago, never seen before, had lots of problems with REX2, butthought that was fixed, so I can't be sure. Thanks HelmutMy System: I7 920 OC 3.4, 4 gig ram, P6T Mobo, 8800GT 512 vc, Windows xp Sp3, FSX Sp2, etc

HelmutThere seems to be part of the error message not showing. Normally with this error it will tell you what has caused the problem. If possible can you post the complete error message? Is it related to Internet Explorer?a couple of pointers but not necessarily the correct ones: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240437 - this looks very complicated: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/125749. :( RegardspH

Thanks for the reply,If possible can you post the complete error message? Is it related to Internet Explorer? No, all I see in the error message is what I listed above, I don't use Internet Explorer.I have no other issues with my PC outside of FSX which keeps on crashing with the same problem. Most likely will have to re-install FSX.Thanks Helmut

This is the same error message that the Lotussim L-39 albatross is generating in some multiplayer flights. Refer to this thread http://www.lotussim.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=77 although I don't think there is a solution yet. From what I've heard different FSX aircraft can generate this message which makes debugging really difficult (the message as written by helberger is exactly the one I get in the L-39. You can't determine the program as it trails off ... The message appears and then FSX crashes with a "do you want to send a report to microsoft" message). Is this happening with any particular aircraft? What aircraft have you added recently (ie from the time just before you started having this problem)? Does this problem occur with a default aircraft? Have you tried uninstalling REX to see if that fixes the problem?

Thanks all for trying to help,Is this happening with any particular aircraft? What aircraft have you added recently (ie from the time just before you started having this problem)? Does this problem occur with a default aircraft? Have you tried uninstalling REX to see if that fixes the problem? This happens with any of my addon aircraft. L-39, Lvl, PMDG Md-11, sometimes it happens even with default aircraft butonly after a while. The problem is intermittent, it can crash as as I select an aircraft (addon) or after a few minutes into the flight. The last addon aircraft I installed is the L-39 about 5 days ago. I have searched high and low for a solution but no luck so far.May have to bite the bullet and re-install FSX.Helmut

In the case of the L-39 specifically it *appears* to be a memory exhaustion issue, possibly caused by external models and textures, which is why it seems to occur almost entirely in multiplayer sessions and almost never in singleplayer. It's a bit frustrating to be sure, especially since all of the plane's testing was done in multiplayer and this bug never showed up once during development. But with the complex scenery people are using now and HD clouds etc, I think this kind of error is going to get more common. After spending several nights researching the problem it's clear to me that the L-39 is certainly not the first plane to experience it, and dozens of other things can cause it, which makes it difficult to pin down. Combined with a lot of people trying to get big L-39 sessions going and some repaints using huge textures, it may be difficult to kill. Still working on a cure for it on my end though, and making some good progress.Cheers,-Mike

Thanks for the reply,I have never tried multiplayer, I fly single, the problem exists with my other addons as well, I have re-installed REX two timesalready, since all of my problems started with v2 install and the ensuing exe. xml situation. However I don't like tofingerpoint at anyone since I have no solid proof.Helmut

HelmutThat's odd, it might be worth using Win XP's event viewer/logger to see if you can pin down the actual file. (Ref: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/308427). It might be in one of the log files on the system.Hope you can fix this.PeterH

Hi,Thanks everyone for helping with my problem. I think I may have solved it, will have to to more flyingbut so far no crashes. I discovered that I had the "Error Reporting Service" turned off. After enablingit I fired up FSX and when it crashed, I got a complete error message. It was a UT2Runtime Error. So I uinstalled UT2 and Microsoft .Net 3.5, and reinstalled again, so far so good, now at least Iknow who to deal with if the problem persists.Next time I re-install an OS I will leave the Services as they are, never know when it's needed. Thanks,Helmut

I used to mess with services myself in order to reduce stuff thats running with FSX.But too often when am doing other things like on the internet you start to have issues with services you turned off.The excellent solution is not to touch any serivces at expcept say (wiundows defender for vista = turn off). Then just use Gamebooster. Run this tool before starting FSX and it will turn off all known Windows OS services that are not reuired for gaming. It works for vista and xp.When finished FSx, just open Gamebooster again, and it starts up all the services again.
