Hi guys,I am thinking about getting a new system. I am not really up to date on the latest hardware trends, I was checking out compusa and found this model http://www.compusa.com/applications/Search...&CatId=4138What do you guys think? I am on a budget and dont want to spend more than $1200. I am not skilled enough to put the thing together myself :)thanks in advanceJohn

Looks halfway decent, but the graphics card isn't worth having, even for FS9, let alone FSX. Depending on what PSU is in the system it may not accept a good graphics card either. If you absolutely must buy pre-built, I suggest you look at Asus CG line featured at Best Buy. $1199 gets you an Asus motherboard with a real BIOS, a factory-overclocked i7 920 @ 3.2GHz, 12GB DDR3, a TB HD, a GTX 260, and a 1KW PSU. Much higher-end components than what you're looking at now.

its an ok system. graphics card wise it wouldnt really matter if you ran a 9400 gt or a 9800 gtx as FS is mainly CPU powered. but anywasy the grpahics card is very old.

Being CPU-bound still presumes a minimum level of graphics horsepower which the 9400 GT *severely* lacks.

yes ofc but even a 9400 gt will handle it.

FS9, yes. FSX, no. Certainly not with any modicum of graphics quality, anyway. I presume people want something more than minimum supported resolution and details but maybe I'm crazy...
