August 23, 200916 yr I am the owner of the aerosoft but this one looks sweet to, First ever to have CCIP capabilities with dropable ordanance. Crazy Looks very nicehttp://secure.simmarket.com/iris-pro-serie...ng-falcon.phtml
August 23, 200916 yr It does look pretty nice, but the I still think the Aerosoft version still has a slight advantage. It's a close call though. As an owner of the Aerosoft version, I won't buy the Iris version. But for someone who doesn't own either, the Iris model would deserve a good look. The Aerosoft model has plenty of repaints available, as well as an active forum. I notice the Iris model is slightly more expensive too. Perhaps the Isis model brings something else of value, besides being a 2-seat model. Otherwise, I would think it might have been a good idea to undercut the Aerosoft model by a few dollars.- Martin My site: www.martinstrong.com/FS_Project.htm
August 23, 200916 yr Oh yes it brings a lot more to the table that can be first expected.Just some figures on poly count and texture vertices.Exterior Clean:28 000 polys72 000 texture verticesYou can get about 3 IRIS models on screen compared to 1 aerosoft model.Virtual Cockpit35 000 polys (3-d gauged remember)42 000 text vertices From what i know, the Aerosoft one's got about 200 000 each count. And more for the interior. Don't quote me on that! I don't have aerosofts model. But it's a hell load more than Michael and Davids. The systems replication is just the same, I dunno completely which one has more depth to it, but they both have fully working UFCs but only one has CCIP...:DOh, and it's very fun dropping a bomb where you want it :DI think the little peak in price covers for the back seat ;)
August 23, 200916 yr Nice! I've been a fan of the F-16D for a long time. I started watching the development of this one a while back and will definitely buy today! Keith Guillory
August 23, 200916 yr I also have the Aerosoft version and am lucky enough to be able to fly it without any of the fps issues I keep reading about. From what I can see from screenshots and videos the Iris version doesn't look as attractive, especially the VC which looks a little flat and hand drawn in comparison. Plus I think the single seat F16 looks so much more elegant. The idea of being able to drop ordnance will appeal to all the little boys out there but if it doesn't actually destroy the bridge/building/airfield then it's just a gimmick. (I can hear so many simmers adding their own whistle and explosion sound effects when the bomb is dropped!). It doesn't seem to be setting any forums on fire anywhere - in fact the general reception seems to be a bit lukewarm at best so I shall stick with what I've got.
