Simple question about AI traffic

Featured Replies

Good morning to all.A simple question. In an airfield with 2 parallel runways, one of grass/dirt/gravel/concrete/etc. and the other of water, is it possible to make AI traffic land on the water runway? (a floatplane of course)Or it's only possible in an airfield with water runway only? Thanks in advance for your repliesFly High & Take CareSparky

The answer is a qualified yes - I have done it on several occasions. In order for this to work you must have a suitable floatplane - one which preferably has been tweaked to be used an an AI aircraft.A regular amphibian cannot be used - but there is it least one (a PBY) which has been modified for just this purpose. You cannot use a default water runway - a special Afcad must be created (often referred to as an overlay) which has parking spot(s) and an "invisible" runway and taxiways. The runway and taxiways must also have a concrete (not water) surface. It is not difficult to achieve this but requires more space than the forum allows to properly explain it.If you are interested, just drop me a regular e-mail and I will be happy to walk you through the process. My address isopaflightsimaddict at verizon dot netI shall look forward to hearing from you. :(

Hi Thanks, once again David for offering your help so quick.Indeed it was really a question, for the moment I dont want to do nothing about AI traffic land on water.I already have work to do with "AI land vehicles". After the explanation you send me it's clearly as water the way to add land vehicles as AI.Fly High & Take CareSparky

There was no one specific e-mail that I can forward to you which has all of the details. It was serious of mails specific to what Sparky wished to do.If you would send me a regular e-mail outlining what you want to do and where, I can try to walk you thru the process. My e-mail address is opaflightsimaddict at verizon dot netFYI - It is unwise to put your e-mail address - in the normal format - in any forum. Spammers are likely to pick it up with automated programs which troll these sites. Always spell it out as I did.
