Using a real airplane headset for FSX? how?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I have a headset I use for flight training. Does anyone know if it's possible to hook up the cord from the headset to my soundcard/computer? If so, what adapters are needed to make it work? Thanks.

That adapter is your best bet. This should be an easy thing to accomplish.. A simple adapter for the "speaker" plug would do the trick (the microphone part is a standard size).. However..aviation headsets use some bizarre plug that is the same dimensions as old telephone operator headsets (one ringy-dingy..lol). I spent a weekend trying to track a female one down, and just took the brute-force route. I own several headsets, so I cut the plug off of one, and soldered a male plug onto it.. so I can plug it directly into my sound-card.
