August 28, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi guys, i just another 24 inch monitor and a dual head unit. I am wondering if there is any tips for setting up and using to its best advantage?I have noticed that the text on screen on both monitors is now slightly blurred for example, just enough to annoy you. Do you need to use any special settings to avoid this? I am using 1920 x 1200 on both monitors. My FPS also seems to have halved, but i guess this is to be expected, yes? All tips gratefully received!!After initial usage, I feel that perhaps I have made a mistake and brought the wrong unit. I am feeling I should have got the triple head unit, so I could use bezel management, which does not come with the dual unit, and I did not consider how irritating the bezel join would be in the middle of the view.......D'oh!!! However, the viewing experience is certainly fantastic, the scenery looks just awesome, so I definitely sold on the idea...... Anyone wanna buy a brand new dual head 2go !!! :( :( If I did go triple head, as i already have 2 24inch screens, what would you multiscreen boys recommend as the 3rd screen? Is it best to have 3 smaller screens the same size? thx, Mark
August 28, 200916 yr Have you installed the latest drivers from matrox? I know it works right out of the box but once you install their drivers and run their optimization application you get better native resolutions.Do you ahve a dual DVI card? I have a 9800GTX card with the dualhead, 3 x 20" LCD's and I love it. I Don't really see the need for a triple head since I use forward-left, front and forward-right instead of a big front span.
August 28, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Twisted, thx for that, will look at the matrox site now. I just installed whatever was on the cd that came with it.How do you set up your views as described ? At the moment I have one big view spanning the 2 screens. My card is a Radeon 4850 X2, it has 4 outlets. Thx, mark

Thx, markI have a triple head to go runnning 3840X1024 and am having no problems with fuzzy or unreadable characters. Are you using native resolutions for your monitors? If not that may be the problem. The Matrox Power Desk application is what you need to properly set up your monitors. Also, for the Right/Left front screens just right click in your virtual cockpit window and select left view, resize that on your left monitor then add a new view, right click that one and select the right cockpit view then drag it over to the right monitor. Keep in mind that not all aircraft have these seperte views. That should do it. August 28, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, I have downloaded and installed the latest Matrox drivers, let them do their thing and set it all up. I am using 1920 x 1200 for both monitors. The blurry text was only when reading text on the internet really, it did not seem to affect the picture clarity. I just tried right clicking in my virtual cockpit, but I dont get any options for the views as you described. Currently I have the screens set up with the matrox software to display as one screen, 3840 x 1200.Where are these views available? They are not in FSX view options, right click just gives you a dialogue box with the view options in that you get from the normal options bar.thx, Mark
